Téotl

Téotl means god in nahuatl. He is by far the most intricate alebrije I have made so far and it was a commission. I worked very closely with my client, he was very specific on wanting a lion’s head, shark body, powerful wings and webbed feet. But alebrijes have a mind of their own, and Téotl demanded ram horns and a scorpion-shaped tongue. The result was so powerful and breathtaking that I could just stare at it for hours.
